Celebrate Wild Koala Day with a special plate

Saturday, 3 May 2025 is Wild Koala Day — a time to celebrate wild koalas and champion the volunteer groups who help rescue and rehabilitate South Australia’s injured and orphaned native animals.

What better way to show your support than by securing a Koala State number plate?

The Koala State plates are a one-off fee of $151. $50 from every plate sold helps support wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in South Australia. This is a joint effort by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport and the Department for Environment and Water.

Making a difference

So far, over 2,500 plates have been sold .

This has raised almost $130,000 for wildlife rescue organisations throughout South Australia.
